ASSASSINATION CLASSROOM After 70% of the moon has been destroyed by a yellow octopus-alien, which thereafter challenges humanity to kill him within a year otherwise it will destroy earth. But instead of hiding, the creature starts as teacher at Kunugigaoka Middle School where he lectures the school's worst class in how to kill (him). Which turns out harder than it seems, because the creature is a super-powered entity that can evade nearly all attacks. And to make things worse, he's actually a pretty good teacher! What started as a popular manga in 2012 became a successful anime series 2013 and was turned into a live action movie in 2015 that became a box office hit and spawned an equally successful sequel in 2016. Assassination Classroom: Graduation was released together with the final chapter of the manga to coincide with graduation season in Japan. To catch up with what all the fuzz is about, here is Assassination Classroom part one, the 3DS games, the anime series and the comfortable cushion (gasp)!

KEEPER OF DARKNESS Director and main protagonist Nick Cheung Ka-fai plays Fatt, a white haired exorcist on a bicycle who has the ability to communicate with ghosts and roams the streets of Hong Kong to negotiate with malicious spirits. After a banishment of a particularly aggressive pair of vengeful deceased, he must travel through different dimensions to investigate the source of their grudges in order to stop their blood feud. At times exorcism drama, at others gangster comedy, then suddenly zombie horror and occasionally supernatural romance, this effects-driven adventure is a romp of a genre mix like only Hong Kong can spawn. And as it seems, more than just a few moviegoers were up for the (bicycle) ride because a sequel is already being produced.

The new "active dungeon RPG" title planned for the PS Vita is only the tip of the iceberg as a novel published by Dengeki Bunko is already planned along with Dengeki PlayStation's promise to develop a serialized prequel. Kangokuto Mary Skelter is set in a universe where 1999's Japan is home to cities such as 'Jail,' a living prison that was birthed and then subsequently swallowed by the earth and buried 666 meters below ground. As a result of this cataclysmic event hostile monsters known a 'Marchen' began to appear, threatening the safety of humans. Kangokuto Mary Skelter follows male protagonist Jack and heroines several decades after this massive event as they aim to escape their prison-home. The girls' unique reaction to the Marchen's blood provides them with increased physical abilities that will allow them a chance at freedom. The primary condition for players to escape is to grow the living Jail 666 meters, raising it from the depths below. THE MONKEY KING 2 (HK VERSION) The story of the Monkey King is a classic of Chinese folklore and part of Wu Cheng'en's novel Journey to the West. It actually centers on the story of the pious monk Xuanzang, who accidentally releases him from his prison in the Mountain of Five Elements where Buddha put him for his delinquency. From there on, Sun Wukong (that's the Monkey King's legal name) is forced to help said monk on his pilgrimage to India to obtain a holy sutra. Aided by the pig demon Zhu Bajie and the sand demon Sha Wujing, they have to protect their master from demons who are after the holy man's hide. This sequel focuses on one such attack from the White Bone Demon, played by the wonderful Gong Li, who wants to renew her soon-to-expire demonhood by eating Xuanzang's flesh. And because he is an abstinent monk and she is Gong Li, she's trying to tempt that flesh and manipulate him into alienating his friends and giving up his vows (see Chapter 27 of the original text called "Three Attacks on the White Bone Demon", which is also the film's Chinese title and NOT the title of an adult movie). If you are looking for other movies by director Soi Cheang Pou-Soi but prefer more breakneck martial arts instead of fantasy, you should definitely check out the amazing SPL 2 with "the-face-of-Muay-Thai" Tony Jaa!
