Pride & Prejudice & Zombies on DVD & Blu-ray & 4K BR!

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES

Anyone who even marginally got in contact with english literature on a scholarly level must have been confronted with the works of Jane Austen (and the Bronte sisters respectively) at some point. And boy was it a dry read if you were not invested in the banter between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy or 19th century Britain's courting rituals and manners.

As a natural coping mechanism, one tends to drift off whilst reading, imagining what might make the story interesting to our modern pop-culture sensitivities. If the additional ingredient of choice is zombies, you are probably already aware of the 2009 parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.

Due to that novel's popularity, we are now treated with a film version of an alternative victorian England where the undead roam the land. The lead roles belong to, amongst others, Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy, a renowned zombie hunter and Lily James as Lizzie, a trained ninja warrior, and former Dr. Who himself, Matt Smith. Love and decapitations occur ...

After the movie version of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and this adaptation, it might just be a matter of time until we get the successors they spawned like Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, Jane Slayre and – definitely on my wish list - Kanye West: Reanimator!

25 more minutes of Tokyo War on this newly released Director's Cut of The Next Generation Patlabor: The Movie.

THE NEXT GENERATION: PATLABOR - THE MOVIE (DIRECTOR'S CUT EDITION)

This new extended version has 27 minutes of additional footage, extending the running time to 121 minutes, plus it features Dolby Atmos.

The complete live action Patlabor show is split into two DVD/Blu-Ray Boxsets with this feature-length movie concluding the series. It is also refered to as "Tokyo War" and is basically a remake of the animated Patlabor 2 movie.

The movie starts with an attack on Rainbow Bridge in Odaiba by an experimental military helicopter called "Gray Ghost". The gunship was stolen 2 days prior by followers of Yukihito Tsuge, a former lieutenant colonel who planned a military coup 13 years earlier. Having private connections to the suspect, Captain Gotoda sets out to stop his former friend. It will take all the skills and wits of SV2 to keep up with the unfolding plot, but it might not be enough to stop a plan that has started 13 years ago and since then ran like clockwork.

If you have not caught up with director Mamoru Oshi's live action adaptation of his beloved Patlabor franchise yet, you should definitely check it out. And if you don't know the franchise at all, you have missed out on a movie trilogy that is considered to be one of the benchmarks for smart anime. But lucky for you, you can catch up easily with our low priced Hong Kong versions!

We love saying this: THE DIVA IS BACK! H.Miku Future Tone!

HATSUNE MIKU: PROJECT DIVA FUTURE TONE
PlayStation 4 [Rhythm] Digital Release: June 23rd, 2016

Good Guy Sega has just released a free prelude demo for the PS4 digital only Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone as well as the debut trailer seen above!

While the full version is out June 23rd, this predule demo version contains two songs on the Japanese PSN shop where you can get right here: PROJECT DIVA FUTURE TONE

When the full retail follow up releases at 8424¥, the "Future Sound"  and "Colorful Tone"  paid add-on packs will add over 220 songs and 340 modules for some sweet sweet vocaloid goodness; the expected content will focus on both the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva and Project Diva F series as well as the Project Mirai series and Project Diva Arcade!

Aside from the core content, Project Diva Future Tone brings a lot of new elements to Sega's Muse - a new mode called "Survival Course" will definitely make things a lot more interesting, as players attempt different musical mixes with a life gauge for leaderboard achievements and notoriety.

As well, at 1080p and 60 FPS, not only will Miku look as good as she sounds, the effects and rhythm patterns will be all the more enjoyable, especially with the addition of new buttons and movements due to the features of the Dual Shock 4.

With all that's said, what are you waiting for? Again, here's the link to the demo: PROJECT DIVA FUTURE TONE

A New Revelation: Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator: All Regions + Famitsu DX Packs!

GUILTY GEAR XRD: REVELATOR
PS4/PS3 [Fighting] Release: JPN 5/26 US/ASIA (ENG) 6/7 EU 6/10 ASIA (CHI) 7/31

Arc System Work's signature cel shaded anime fighter is back in this upgraded release based on Japanese arcade machine roots; not only does Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- feature graphical upgrades and gameplay tweaks based on fan feedback, there are now 20+ fighters in the roster as well as modes galore! LET'S ROCK...AGAIN!?

At 60 frames per second, there's been a lot of polish done on the graphical aspect of game that already looks beautiful. For those new to Guilty Gear, one of the most outstanding aspects is how the game transitions between on-screen mayhem to it's finishing move cutscenes, and everything inbetween.

For modes, there's the regular Story Mode and Episode mode - the latter features the story told from teh arcade version of the game; for beginners there's tutorial and practice modes and M.O.M. mode, a hardcore challenge for returning veterans. However, while this is all single player, the meat in Guilty Gear is definitely in it's online VS offering, and this is where it gets interesting.

Rare for console games, Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- has PS4/PS3 system compatible battles, and there is a new lobby where players can setup matches, spectate, and even train while waiting for your match. What makes this mode stand out is that the lobby mode is set up like an arcade with cabinet machines, bringing in a nice sense of community for fighting fans to gather and duke it out. As well, in this lobby, there's even a fishing pond; gamers can use this mechanic to acquire custom parts and emotes for their avatar, or even new player colors!

Make sure to check out the Famitsu DX packs if you're interested in Arc System Work's blistering anime fighter!

A Bullet To Your Heart: MGS Sniper Wolf Kotobikuya Bishoujo~ OUT NOW!

"Well I'm going to send you a love letter, my dear. Do you know what that is? It's a bullet straight from my gun to your heart" - Sniper Wolf, Metal Gear Solid (1998, Sony PlayStation)

METAL GEAR SOLID BISHOUJO 1/7 SCALE PRE-PAINTED FIGURE: SNIPER WOLF

Manufacturer: Kotobukiya | Release: May 24th, 2016

While Metal Gear Solid brought forth many memorable moments, one of them undoubtedly has to be the final encounter with Sniper Wolf. Across a snowy field, the deadly sniper faced off with Solid Snake in a tense long range battle - a battle of bullets and ideologies, beautifully presented with Hideo Kojima's signature flair.

To honor this beloved character, Kotobukiya revisits Sniper Wolf with the help of master illustrator Shunya Yamashita in the newest entry to their Bishoujo "Pretty Girl" line - this 1/7th scale reimagining of the bittersweet character reveals a private moment of respite with undertones of her wild, untamed, and solitary persona.

Of course, Sniper Wolf would never be without her signature Heckler & Koch PSG1; she languidly holds the barrel with the sensitivity needed to deftly pull the trigger and looks straight ahead, eye contact leading her target's gaze towards her equally revealing uniform. A nice touch is the addition of the wolf pup peeking out of the broken crate - those who know the lore can agree with Otacon that it's easy to fall in love with such a woman, as beautiful as she is complex. Sigh~

Granblue Fantasy Figure: Danua, Hansel, and Gretel!

GRANBLUE FANTASY 1/8 SCALE PRE-PAINTED FIGURE: DANUA
Manufacturer: Kotobukiya | Release: October 2016

With so many awesome mobile games recently earning their characters a figure dedicated to them, it's about time Granblue Fantasy also sees this day! With over 10 million players, it's a no brainer that a toy manufacturer would quickly seize the opportunity to create a figure for the popular game. In October 2016, Kotobukiya will release a 1/8th scale pre-painted PVC figure of Danua from Granblue Fantasy!

Danua is one of the SR rank characters in the game. Don't let her cute innocent look fool you as she wields an immense power that could be enough to wipe out a group of mobs in one go! To further add to the "moe" factor of her character, she is voiced by the Japanese voice actress Nozomi Sasaki who is well known for many of her voice acting roles in various anime series such as Lucky Star, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun, and Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa Machigatteiru.

The figure is based on the original illustration of Danua as she is displayed in the game itself and stands at 18.5cm tall. She also comes together with her faithful companions Hansel & Gretel who will always be there to protect her even in a figure form! As expected with all figures coming from Kotobukiya, the detail in the figure is extremely rich in both the sculpting and painting process bringing Danua to life in our world.

This beautiful piece of artwork is definitely not to be missed for any fan of Danua!

Dragon Ball Fusion is releasing in Japan on August 4th!

DRAGON BALL FUSION | RELEASE: AUGUST 4, 2016
Dragon Ball Fusions (Nintendo 3DS™, JPN)  US$ 52.99 pre

Dragon Ball dreams are coming true this August with Bandai Namco's 3DS title centered around fusing a massive list of characters together using the Fusion Dance mechanic. The fusion limitations many fans of the series are familiar with have been sidestepped by Capsule Corp's latest piece of technology, which means that any character should be able to fuse with another despite Ki levels.

Making a change from some previous Dragon Ball titles players will play as themselves, whether or not it will be a specific player-designated character or one that players create or fuse on their own is not yet clear. Players will be able to meet up with characters from all over the Dragon Ball universe and can join your team.

There will be three ways to fuse: Fusion, EX-Fusion, Maxi-Fusion! The third option is the most exciting introduction as Maxi-Fusion is a fusion between 5 different characters, resulting in what could only be described as an ultimate warrior. The idea is that the customization options will be nearly endless!

Stephen Chow's The Mermaid is set free on HK DVD and Blu-ray, in 2D and 3D!

MERMAID

If you have never seen a Stephen Chow movie before, you have not yet seen what Chinese comedies are capable of. Actor-director-producer Chow is both master of perfectly timed slapstick sequences combined with pure situational comedy, and on the other hand sheer nonsense that can reach breathtakingly sadistic levels.

That formula (called Mo Lei Tau in cantonese) seems to be universal as his movies rank amongst some of the best comedies in Asia and abroad. Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer were big international hits and A Chinese Odyssee part 1 and 2 count as the most beloved interpretations of the Monkey King story to date (and of which a third part is being filmed right now).

So it comes as no surprise that his newest movie crushed domestic box office records in China and became the sixth highest-grossing movie in 2016, right behind Deadpool (until now). Sadly, it was treated quite unceremoniously abroad, with just a few dozen movie theaters showing it in the U.S. Then again, Deadpool was altogether banned in China due to its vulgarity.

From Dead Nation to Alienation - Physical Release June!

ALIENATION
PlayStation®4 [Top Down Shoot'em Up] Release: June 20, 2016

As far as top down twin stick shooters go, it can be said that developers Housemarque have this formula perfected. From their expertise in the shooting genre, boasting cult favorites like planetoid twitch shooter Super Stardust to everyone's favorite top down zombie co-op shooter Dead Nation, their newest release is the culmination of all their skills packaged as an amazingly fun title known as Alienation.

Already out for almost a month as a digital exclusive for the PS4, regardless of all the huge releases we've been lucky to have as gamers, Alienation continues to draw players in with its high level of polish and addicting gameplay, made even better its smooth drop-in drop-out online multiplayer, whether with strangers or with friends.

For those new to this title, the premise is simple; select from 3 distinct classes with their own passive and active skills and go forth into alien infested stages across the world with objectives and missions for each. While this is very straight forward, Alienation borrows a fantastic loot system very similar to Diablo III, and drops are as plentiful as the myriad of challenges players will face.

There's a nice assortment of weapons, and these weapons can also be upgraded through a literal stat reroll at the cost of pick-ups from missions, and also buffed through equippable cores. Seeing your favorite legendary weapon become extremely OP is one of the joys that keep gameplay fresh, and probably a must when tackling the harder missions.

Also, within missions, special events will pop up from time to time, such as a massive horde of enemies, special mini-bosses, and even gateways to an alien ship for R A R E loot. There's even great NG+ end game content where players can invade the games of others for PVP matches, or explore a massive alien mothership containing a completely different style of gameplay.

Again, for any gamer who's looking for something that's just really fun to play, and are open for a game that really feels like Diablo III with Aliens, then Alienation is something we'd recommend, and only because we've spent a lot of time ourselves on Housemarque's labour of love - special shout out to the weather and environment textures too!

Alienation is also available digitally, on PSN Shops worldwide ($19.99USD) -> GET YOUR PSN DIGITAL CODES HERE!
Alienation (English & Chinese Subs) (PlayStation 4™, ASIA)  US$ 19.99 pre
